We are already loading the first citrus from South Africa!
Despite we are facing a difficult year due to the uncertainty of logistics, availability, freight costs, and new protocols that could change the availability of fruit to different markets, at Salix, we are prepared to mitigate risks and face a challenging season.
Thanks to our strong logistics and commercial team, with people at origin, we are already loading Southafrican lemons and tangerines, and we are also starting the harvest and export of oranges.
We expect a great season with shipments mainly to the Middle East and Europe, but also to Canada, Asia, and Russia.
We have witnessed a great increase in lemon and tangerine plantations in South African territory, with our own South African procurement office since 2014, and after meeting some of its main farmers, who have had great success in previous years, we are ready and looking forward to another great Citrus season.
