SALIX’S CITRICS ALL YEAR ROUND

We will end the southern hemisphere season with a supply of Valencia Oranges from Uruguay.

The Uruguayan Valencia orange is well known for its excellent color, large amount of juice and a balanced flavor that makes it so popular.

Uruguay has a long history of citrus production, although it was based on sales to the European market, Uruguay found in the US an avid market for citrus of good color and flavor.

Today the US imports approximately 120,000 tons (8,400,000 boxes of 15 kg) of oranges from the southern hemisphere. Chile with 65,000 tons is the main actor, followed by South Africa with 40,000 and Uruguay with 15,000 tons.
