With an estimation of more than 165 million boxes of citrus, the country is the biggest grower and exporter of fresh citrus in the south hemisphere.
Salix has had its own South African procurement office since 2014, and after meeting some of its main farmers, who have had great success in previous years, we are ready and looking forward to another great Citrus season.
This year we started with the loadings from South Africa! Juicy lemons, tangerines, and oranges departed mainly to the Middle East and Europe, but also to Canada, Asia, and Russia.
Now we are loading Navels, Novas, Eureka lemons, and red grapefruits. Starting in a few weeks with Valencia types from the Northern Cape.
Our strong logistics and commercial team, with our professional team controlling at origin, is top-notch, with strict quality control and sustainable farming practices that ensure only the freshest and healthiest fruits make it to your business.
