The Chilean apple season has arrived, and at Salix Fruits, we bring you all the latest news!
From February to April, we prepare to enjoy the most delicious varieties such as Galas, Granny Smith, Reds, followed by Cripps Pink and Fujis. And the best part is that thanks to our controlled atmosphere storage techniques, we can guarantee their availability until November, with the months of March to July having the highest volumes, with Gala being the main variety!
We know that each season brings unique challenges, influenced by climate variability, environmental, nutritional, and productive factors. That's why we make sure to take care of every detail, from internal maturity (starch degradation index, firmness, soluble solids), external maturity (background color break, peduncular cracking, among others), coverage color, and intensity. We are attentive to every aspect so you can enjoy the freshness and flavor that characterizes our fruits!
This year we are facing some changes: the Gala harvest is delayed by approximately 2 weeks, so the end of the harvest is expected for weeks 11-12. In terms of volume, we expect a slight decrease compared to the previous season, but we guarantee that each apple will be of the highest quality.
